Activities with LED Bracelets at a Basketball Camp

An innovative, inclusive, and visually striking sports experience in La Gomera, powered by Glow Experience LED technology—designed not only for playing, but for sparking emotion, a sense of belonging, and lasting collective memories.

Within the framework of the renowned Javi Beirán Camp, held in La Gomera from June 21 to July 26, 2025, the organizers—Marcha Deportiva and CB Isla de La Gomera—set out to go one step beyond the traditional sports camp format.

The goal was clear: to create a distinctive nighttime experience, capable of matching the impact of other leisure activities, reinforcing team spirit, and turning a sports activity into an unforgettable memory for boys and girls aged 8 to 18.

A nighttime tournament that would be much more than basketball

The challenge was no small one. In youth sports training events, sustained attention levels often drop after 15–20 minutes, especially in repeated dynamics. Here, the goal was precisely the opposite:

  • Increase active participation.
  • Make game organization easy to follow.
  • Enhance the perceived value of the camp for both participants and families.

The proposal included LED hoops, a glowing ball, and a visual system that would make it possible to identify each team through LED wristbands. However, several key questions arose—very common in sports environments:

  • Was it possible to produce 275 reusable LED wristbands, with differentiated colors and camp branding, without blowing the budget?

  • Could they be put on and taken off easily to use them across different games and moments in the program?

  • What real battery life would they offer during long days, when the activity runs longer than expected?

  • Could on-time delivery to the Canary Islands be guaranteed—an essential factor in fixed-date events?

  • How could 10 different groups (8 of 30 and 2 of 20) be managed visually without creating confusion on the court?

Our solution: a clear, reliable, and memorable layer of sports activation

At Glow Experience LED, we understood that it wasn’t just about lighting up the event, but about adding a layer of organization, emotion, and storytelling to the sports experience.

Customized wristbands at no extra cost

We included the Campus Javi Beirán logo at no additional cost. This detail, while simple in production terms, has a direct impact on brand perception: participants don’t just play — they belong to something recognizable and shared.

Reusable and designed for the pace of sports

The wristbands were designed with a practical and durable clasp, allowing them to be used across different games, activities, and during the final party.

  • This reduced the cost per use and made it possible to extend the Glow experience to multiple moments of the camp, such as the final party — a key element in multi-day sports formats.

Color-Coded Wristbands for Instant Team Recognition

The 280 wristbands were divided into 10 color-differentiated groups, which enabled:

  • Immediate team identification on the court.

  • Greater flow during games (fewer interruptions).

  • Better visual clarity from the stands and outdoor areas.

  • In terms of experience, this translates into more dynamism, less friction, and greater emotional engagement from the players.

Visual team and color-based organization

The batteries provided an estimated runtime of 12 to 16 hours, enough to cover several nighttime sessions. Even so, we recommended spare batteries as a preventive measure. This approach—common in professional sports productions—eliminates live-event risks and builds confidence for organizers.

That same operational confidence is what allows the show to shine flawlessly—just as with Stade Brestois 29, which turned a historic season into an unforgettable memory for its fans.

Logistics adapted to the Canary Islands

Although the initial budget was based on mainland Spain pricing, logistics were adjusted to ensure delivery with enough time to spare. In sports events, where there is no “second chance,” logistical reliability is just as important as the show itself.

The result: greater participation, more excitement, and a lasting memory

The nighttime tournament was an overwhelming success.

More than 200 young players enjoyed a transformed court, a glowing ball, and LED wristbands activated to the rhythm of the game and the music.

From a sports-impact and experiential perspective:

  • Participation remained high throughout the entire activity.

  • The atmosphere encouraged teamwork and cohesion between teams.

  • The experience elevated the perceived value of the camp compared to previous editions and other traditional camps.
