With 111 stores across Spain, the multinational MediaMarkt celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, and what better way to celebrate than with an event to match. The RIU hotel in Madrid was responsible for hosting a series of activities in which we were present to illuminate and add a different touch with remote-controlled LED bracelets. Here we tell you how we managed to make every moment shine at an event full of history, emotion, and lots of music!
The 25th floor of the hotel was reserved exclusively to offer guests a “room tour” in which several rooms were fitted out to show the historical and technological evolution of the company: its products, its marketing campaigns, the cultural drift of trends… from 1999 to 2019. Years and years dedicated to the electronics industry that could not be missed by the first to arrive at the place: international executives from MediaMarkt, gathered in Spain to celebrate this anniversary.
The rooms, decorated with sheets, dolls, accessories and devices that referred to trends of the time, served to give a global perspective of the company and its involvement in people’s lives, with the incorporation of the after-sales service and historic campaigns such as “I’m not stupid” already in 2004.
LED bracelets made the internal organisation of the corporate event much easier. The organisation needed a way to control the capacity and the groups of people who accessed the 25th floor, and the executives were arriving little by little, waiting for their turn to see the exhibition.
First of all, the LED luminous bracelets were grouped at the factory, which made it easier to control access to the floor and to the rooms, in such a way that the bracelets would light up if it was the turn of the group wearing them thanks to the technician. A completely interactive and innovative solution that also created a special atmosphere, with the aim of making it a unique and unforgettable experience.
The bracelets also served to differentiate languages. Many of the executives present, who were English speakers, were able to differentiate themselves from the rest who spoke Spanish through the bracelets, which remained lit with the custom colour they used in the brand, red. A branding decision related to the logo that stood out a lot in the celebration.
We know that lighting and creating visual effects are not the only thing that matters at this type of event. The importance of making an event agile and coordinated at all times is key so that any unforeseen events and problems that may arise are easily solved by taking into account the functionalities offered by our event wristbands.
Upon arrival at the event reception, guests were able to enjoy a welcome catering and open bar, where they also enjoyed magic shows until the presentations and the presentation of Javi Sancho, the comedian invited to host the anniversary, began.
With each round of applause, after the words of those who went up on the small stage, the bracelets were activated and flashed red to facilitate the creation of visual effects. An interaction that was fully integrated with the LED lights.
The small talk and humour that took place at the MediaMarkt tribute ended with a final magic trick in which a commemorative t-shirt and a video were presented, thus activating the bracelets that glowed with the rainbow effect, and fuelling an unforgettable visual spectacle.
At the same time, influencers from all walks of life entered the hotel through a photocall, leaving their impressions and expectations of the event to the media, preparing for the party that was going to last until dawn, with live music.
There, on the roof of the RIU hotel, Estopa began the night with a small concert in front of all the guests, and the bracelets began to glow to the rhythm of the guitar in the purest DMX style, and later with the music of the party’s own DJ.

With laughter and music, the reception became an unforgettable memory for all attendees, leaving them excited for the future.
