Gamergy is an event that was born in 2014 as the first major in-person esports festival in Spain. The latest edition of Gamergy 2022 welcomed more than 60,000 attendees for 3 days full of activities related to video games, electronic sports and gamer culture. This year, Gamergy in Mexico and Argentina became a reality. Gamergy Mexico took place in August, while Gamergy Argentina took place in April.
It is an ideal space for both lovers of the most prominent titles and for companies and institutions linked to this rapidly growing sector. During Gamergy, all parties involved in the industry meet to enjoy the highest level of competition, learn about the latest developments and strengthen ties within the gaming community.
There are usually different ticket prices. On Friday 15 December, the price was around 14 euros for the general public if they bought online, while it was 22 euros at the box office. However, they only allowed you to be at the event between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for one day. On the other hand, if you bought the ticket as a professional, the price rose to 19 euros, but you could stay all day. On 16 and 17 December, both prices are the same: 19 euros from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., when the doors close. Finally, with the VIP pass you are guaranteed entry for all 3 days from morning to afternoon.
Gamergy is an event designed for some of the most important esports competitions on the national and international scene, all of them together in a face-to-face event. In its last edition, professional and amateur tournaments of popular games such as League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League or Fortnite were held, where the best teams and players competed for juicy cash prizes that in some cases reached tens of thousands of euros. In addition, the FIFA football simulator and other titles such as Rocket Arena brought together a multitude of amateur participants in search of victory. The finals of these championships attracted hundreds of spectators until the stands of the main stage were full.
In the League of Legends championship, several of the best Spanish teams such as KOI and Team Heretics delighted the public with games at the highest level, the latter with a show called Heretics Experience in which they announced the news for next year. After close series, it was the team led by Reven that emerged victorious to the jubilation of the numerous fans who packed the stands.
Another duel that kept spectators in suspense was the grand final of the Spanish professional league of Rainbow Six Siege. The then champions of EXPG had to work hard to get their revenge against the always competitive Team Queso. The loud cheers for one or the other team contributed to creating an exciting atmosphere in the last game, which was resolved by a tight result.
Some of the tournaments that brought together thousands of spectators in the showmatch were:
League of Legends (LOL): The LOL tournaments featured the participation of teams such as KOI and Team Heretics. The Circuito Tormenta, an amateur league of players in which you could participate and win prizes, also stood out.
Rainbow Six Siege: Grand final of the Spanish professional league that pitted Team Queso against EXPG.
FIFA23: Soccer simulator tournament with €10,000 prizes.
Valorant: International championship with teams from all over Latin America and the Gamergy Stars tournament for amateur players.
Dozens of top-level exhibitors were waiting in the fair’s pavilion for the more than 65,000 visitors who visited their stands, with the invaluable organisation of ifema madrid and ggtech entertainment, prepared for any unforeseen events at all times. Industry giants such as PlayStation, Xbox, Razer, HyperX and other brands had ample spaces to show off their latest developments in consoles, peripherals, computers and accessories for gamers. The main developers such as Riot Games, creator of League of Legends, or Ubisoft also had their own exclusive area to present their new releases and maintain direct contact with the community.

The event was not only attended by ElRubius and Auronplay, who once again did not miss their date with the fans at Gamergy, but also by Ibai Llanos. The popular Basque streamer was accompanied by other creators from his team, KOI, such as the legendary Reven and BarbeQ. The three interacted with hundreds of followers and participated in special shows. The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter and excitement as attendees took photographs and gathered for live Q&A sessions with the streamers. As the day progressed, various games and challenges were organized, further fostering a sense of community among the creators and their fans.
Another of the streamers who filled thousands of people with joy was The Grefg, a well-known influencer in the world of video games. The Murcian offered an outstanding live broadcast exclusively for Gamergy from one of the main areas, gathering a multitude of fans who were able to enjoy his “La isla infojobs” tournament. His charisma and competitiveness in the challenges he faced left their mark, as every time he appears at this event.
In this edition of gamergy 2023, all the most important events were also broadcast through streaming platforms such as Twitch or YouTube, so that those who could not attend the event at the ifema exhibition centre in Madrid could live the gamergy experience in a virtual way.
For the first time, Gamergy 2023 innovated by incorporating large areas dedicated to experiences beyond video games. One of them was the board games area, where various strategy and skill tournaments were organized for all audiences. An immersive space with the latest virtual reality devices was also launched, where attendees could face the most entertaining sporting challenges. Another novelty was the National Freestyle Final, which had its own stage for the outstanding exhibitions of the best freestyle rappers on the national scene. In addition, the traditional cosplay parade and drawing contests once again surprised with the talent of the community.
The last edition of Gamergy broke all previous attendance records, bringing together more than 65,000 video game enthusiasts during the 3 days of the event at IFEMA Madrid. The large pavilions provided were often too small, as the crowds of people crowded around the different stages and gaming areas.
The festive atmosphere and camaraderie among attendees, both young and old, conveyed the playful and passionate essence that characterises gaming culture. Many came dressed in colourful costumes of characters from their favourite games, series and comics. The joy and fervour of the Spanish gamer community was evident in the long queues to watch the finals or get some valuable autographs from their favourite streamers.
Given the huge turnout and the resounding success of this past celebration, the organizers and attendees are already counting down the hours for a new edition of Gamergy in December 2024. It is predicted that they will try to surpass the participation achievements of 2023, which will surely require further expanding the facilities and incorporating novelties such as new themed areas or surprise activities. Gaming fans cannot be more excited to enjoy the always-awaited event and attend the event, which every year raises the bar for quality and innovation to the delight of lovers of this ever-growing industry.

LED wristbands have great potential to elevate the experience of attendees at events such as Gamergy. As this is an event dedicated to digital entertainment, the wristbands would be a perfect fit to offer immersive interactive experiences.
Thanks to their remote-controlled technology, the wristbands would allow synchronizing light scenes coordinated with the music and content on the screen. This would help to fully capture the attention of attendees and immerse them fully in each presentation, conference or activity.
Likewise, LED wristbands could be used to highlight key moments such as the opening, the finals of esports tournaments or the announcements of new games. In this way, the energy and excitement of the public would be raised at key moments of the event.
Thanks to their easy handling from a central console, the wristbands would be an ideal complement for the organizer of Gamergy. They would allow them to energize the spaces and offer a completely immersive experience in line with the gamer and technological character that defines this event. They would certainly add an extra dose of magic and interactivity through luminosity and color coordination.
We hope that these extra details have helped you get to know this incredible experience a little better. See you in the 2024 Gamergy season!
